What is Orthodontics? Orthodontics focuses on treating malocclusion by means of braces, clear aligner and removable devices.

All starts with a good diagnosis

Cephalometry is the first step of diagnosis and it is mainly based on X-rays.

Panoramic radiograph is the x-ray used to reveal dental and bone problems.

What orthodontic techniques are best suited to you?

Every technique has pros and cons. The dentist can help their patients to make a choice. Braces are very effective in moving visibly crooked or crowded teeth but some people could find them too visible.

Removable dental appliances can be used in young patients or in mild misalignment.

Clear aligners are almost transparent orthodontic devices and for their esthetic qualities are possibly the most pleasant to patients.

How do clear aligners work?

The good news is that we do not need a dental impression material but we use instead a dental camera to scan the patient’s teeth and to make a 3D model.

Every aligner set has to be used for a short period, often 10 to 15 days before changing to the next set, like a frame is one of the many still images which compose the complete moving picture.
