Pensi di avere delle otturazioni scure in amalgama (argento più mercurio)? Potrebbero essere sostituite, perchè infiltrate da carie con le otturazioni estetiche in composito, una resina dello stesso colore del dente.
Direct restoration
In most cases we can restore a tooth in a single appointment. The procedure .requires the isolation of the tooth with the dental dam, which is an elastic foil.
There is an old amalgam restoration that we want to remove.
The blue dental dam is applied. Its a painless procedure and allows us to work with improved hygiene and safety for the patient.
We can use a special stain for decay.
At last We restore the missing tooth with Composite resin of the appropriate colour.
We check for the correct occlusion of the teeth..
There are many advantages for using Composite instead of amalgam:
- We can choose the appropriate colour for the patient
- It is connected to the tooth tissue with a special adhesive.
Indirect Restoration.
For wide decay we can use the indirect restorations, like inlays and onlays, because these allow a better fit without problems from polimerization and hardening of the materials.
They are a little more expensive than the direct restoration but they are usually worth the cost.
Veeners are foils made out of composite or ceramic that are used to restore the visible face of the anterior teeth like incisors.
